The Boston Bruins have signed restricted free agent forward Matt Poitras to a one-year, two-way contract extension on Wednesday.
The deal is worth $850,000 in the NHL.
Poitras, 22, has only appeared in three games with the Bruins this season, recording a goal.
He had 13 goals and 44 points in 69 games with the AHL’s Providence Bruins last season.
The 5-foot-11 centre is coming off his three-year, entry level contract.
Drafted 54th overall by the Bruins in 2022, Poitras has seven goals and 27 points in 69 career NHL games. He also has 30 goals and 85 points in 109 career AHL games.
The Whitby, Ont., native represented Canada at the 2024 World Juniors in a fifth-place finish, recording two goals and four points.
