Nicolas Deslauriers is heading back to Carolina.
Deslauriers and general manager Eric Tulsky announced a two-year extension in front of fans at the team’s Stanley Cup parade Saturday afternoon in Raleigh, N.C.
Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Deslauriers, 35, finished last season with the Hurricanes after being acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers for a draft pick at the trade deadline.
He appeared in 31 games, recording two assists and 38 penalty minutes split between the Flyers and Hurricanes. He also suited up in one playoff game as the Hurricanes won their first Stanley Cup in 20 years.
The 6-foot-1 winger is coming off a four-year, $7 million contract that carried a cap hit of $1.75 million.
Drafted 84th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 2009, Deslauriers has 53 goals and 106 points in 708 career games split between the Buffalo Sabres, Montreal Canadiens, Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild, Flyers, and Hurricanes.
