Flyers sign F Foerster to eight-year, $56.8M extension, goalie Vlader to five-year deal

The Philadelphia Flyers made a pair of significant extensions on Wednesday, signing forward Tyson Foerster to an eight-year, $56.8 contract and goalie Dan Vladar to a five-year, $27.5 million deal

Foerster’s new contract comes with a cap hit of $7.1 million while Vlader deal will carry an average annual value of $5.5 million.

The 24-year-old Foerster scored 13 goals and four assists over 29 games with the Flyers last season, adding one goal over 10 playoff games.

Philadelphia selected the Canadian with the 23rd overall pick in 2020 and has tallied 61 goals and 39 assists over 195 career games with the team.

Flyers Extend Vlader

Vladar, 28, starred for the Flyers last season, going 29-17-4 with a 2.42 goals-against average and .906 save percentage.

He also went 4-6 in the playoffs with a 2.18 GAA and .922 save percentage before his team fell in the second round to the Carolina Hurricanes.

The 6-foot-5 netminder is entering the final season of a two-year, $6.7 million contract that carries a cap hit of $3.35 million. His new contract kicks to start the 2027-28 campaign.

Drafted 75th overall by the Boston Bruins in 2015, Vladar has a career 78-48-23 record with a 2.81 GAA and .898 save percentage split between the Bruins, Calgary Flames, and Flyers.

The Prague native represented his country at Milano Cortina 2026, finishing eighth. He also represented his country at the 2025 World Hockey Championship in a sixth-place finish.
