The Philadelphia Flyers announced Wednesday that forward Tyson Foerster is now expected to be out five months after undergoing surgery on his arm earlier this week.

The new timeline likely rules the 23-year-old forward out for the remainder of the season. He was previously expected to miss two-to-three months with an upper-body injury.

Foerster has 10 goals and 13 points in 21 games this season. He had a career-high 25 goals and 43 points in 81 games in 2024-25.

A first-round pick (23rd overall) by Philadelphia in 2020, he made his NHL debut on March 9, 2023 against the Carolina Hurricanes.

He is in the first season of a two-year, $7.5 million contract with an AAV of $3.75 million.

The Alliston, Ont., native has appeared in 187 career NHL games, scoring 58 goals with 96 points.
