The Vegas Golden Knights appeal of their penalties for violating media regulations was heard by the NHL on Monday, according to multiple reports.
The appeal comes after the league announced last week that the franchise would forfeit a second-round pick in next month’s NHL Draft in addition to head coach John Tortorella being fined $100,000 for what the league called “flagrant violations” of media regulations.
The Golden Knights failed to make Tortorella available to the media following their 5-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks in Game 6 to advance to the Western Conference Final last week.
In a statement, the league noted that the team had been issued a warning previously.

After Thursday night’s series-clinching victory, only forwards Brett Howden and Mitch Marner spoke at the podium. Forward Jack Eichel spoke to the TNT Sports broadcast immediately after the game.
The Golden Knights released a statement later on Friday, acknowledging the penalty and saying there would be no further comment from the team.
