Golden Knights’ McNabb suspended one playoff game for interference

Vegas Golden Knights defenceman Brayden McNabb has been suspended one playoff game for interference on Anaheim Ducks centre Ryan Poehling, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old received a five-minute major for interference and a game misconduct for his hit in the first period of Tuesday’s Game 5 matchup.

McNabb slammed into Poehling with his shoulder and the brunt of the hit caused the back of Poehling’s head to hit the glass. He went to the ice and tried to stand, but was wobbly and went back down. He was helped off the ice to the locker room.

Anaheim ruled Poehling out for the remainder of the game for with an upper-body injury.

The Golden Knights took a 3-2 series lead with with overtime victory on Tuesday. Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday night in Anaheim.
