The Carolina Hurricanes and Vegas Golden Knights are locked in a 3-3 draw after two periods in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final on Tuesday night.
The Hurricanes are trying to even up the Stanley Cup Final at two games apiece with a win.
Carolina entered the second period with a 3-1 lead thanks to first-period goals from Logan Stankoven, Jackson Blake, and Jordan Staal. Mark Stone scored the lone goal for the Golden Knights.
William Karlsson cut the Hurricanes’ lead to a goal just under five minutes into the frame after Rasmus Andersson found him alone in front of the Carolina net and made no mistake, beating netminder Brandon Bussi.
Brett Howden tied the game with just under three minutes remaining, beating Bussi five-hole to make it 3-3.
The goal is Howden’s 14th of the playoffs, which leads the NHL.
Carolina outshot Vegas 9-6 in the period and continue to outshoot them 23-12 in the game. They are 1-for-3 on the man advantage while the Golden Knights are 0-for-2 on the power play.
The Golden Knights are trying to come back and take a commanding 3-1 series lead with a win in Game 4. They are trying to win their second championship in their nine-season franchise history.
Carolina is trying to win its first Stanley Cup championship since 2006.
