Other forwards still hopeful for Game 1 of playoffs.
Veteran centre Radek Faksa, who hasn’t played since early February due to a lower-body injury, is recovering faster than expected, but is still not ready to return Tuesday against the visiting Calgary Flames.
Faksa, 32, has two goals and 15 assists over 56 games with Dallas this season.
Veteran defenceman Tyler Myers is getting closer and could return to the lineup as soon as Thursday.
The 36-year-old native of Houston, who was acquired from the Vancouver Canucks ahead of the trade deadline, has one goal and nine assists over 68 games split between Vancouver and Dallas in 2025-26.
The news wasn’t as positive for winger Nathan Bastian as the 28-year-old native of Kitchener, Ont., will be sidelined for three-to-four weeks with the hand injury he suffered in late March.
Bastian has tallied six goals and one assist over 36 games this season.
Dallas have already locked in a playoff spot and sit second in the Central Division with a 45-20-12 record.
Tampa Bay Lightning
Forward Brandon Hagel will not be in the lineup for Monday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres while forward Scott Sabourin will try to play, head coach Jon Cooper told the media.

Both have undisclosed injuries.
The 27-year-old Hagel, who has 35 goals and 38 assists over 69 games this season, has missed the last two games.
Anaheim Ducks

The 22-year-old hasn’t recorded a point in three games in the NHL this season, but has produced 12 goals and 14 assists over 57 games with the San Diego Gulls.

The 22-year-old will report to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League.
Gustafsson-Nyberg recorded 11 assists over 38 games with the University of Connecticut in 2025-26, his second season with the school.
