Ice Chips: Sens waive defenceman Sebrango

Ottawa Senators

The Senators have placed Donovan Sebrango on waivers, reports Postmedia’s Bruce Garrioch.

The 23-year-old has appeared in two of Ottawa’s three games this season, tallying one shot on goal and one hit in an average of 15:14 per game.

The Ottawa native also appeared in two games with the club last season.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Goaltender Cayden Primeau gets the start Tuesday night for the Leafs against the Nashville Predators, head coach Craig Berube told reporters.

The outing will be Primeau’s Leafs debut. He was claimed off waivers by Toronto last week.

Meanwhile, forward Steven Lorentz was on the ice at Toronto’s skate Tuesday morning.

According to TSN’s Mark Masters, Lorentz was doing work alongside healthy scratches Sammy Blais and Philippe Myers, indicating he will miss another game Tuesday.

The 29-year-old suffered an upper-body injury during Saturday’s loss to the Detroit Red Wings and did not play Monday in the second leg of the home-and-home.

He has two assists in two games played this season.

Edmonton Oilers

Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch issued a number of injury updates Tuesday.

Knoblauch said via The Athletic’s Daniel Nugent-Bowman that the team is hopeful defenceman Jake Walman is able to play Thursday against the Islanders in New York. He will not suit up against the Rangers Tuesday night.

Forward Mattias Janmark may be able to play by the weekend as he recovers from an undisclosed injury.

And finally, defenceman Alec Regula is dealing with an undisclosed injury that will sideline him for Tuesday’s tilt at Madison Square Garden.

Washington Capitals

Forward Pierre-Luc Dubois was not at the Caps’ morning skate Tuesday after leaving Sunday’s game against the New York Rangers.

Head coach Spencer Carbery later said via Tom Gulitti of NHL.com that Dubois will not suit up Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning and is considered day-to-day.

Buffalo Sabres

Goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and forwards Jordan Greenway and Zach Benson were all back on the ice Tuesday for the Sabres.

St. Louis Blues

Forwards Oskar Sundqvist and Alexi Toropchenko remain day-to-day and will not play Wednesday against the Chicago Blackhawks, reports Lou Korac of NHL.com.

Toropchenko has played in just one game this season due to an upper-body injury, while Sundqvist has yet to suit up this season because of a lower-body ailment.
