Vegas Golden Knights
Veteran forward Mark Stone is considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury suffered during Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, according to head coach Bruce Cassidy.
The 33-year-old captain is questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres.
Stone has tallied 21 goals and 39 assists over 43 games with the Golden Knights this season, his eighth year with the franchise.
A native of Winnipeg, Stone represented Canada at the recent Winter Olympics in Italy, recording two goals and two assists across six games, earning a silver medal in the process.
Vegas has dropped two straight games, but are still leading the Pacific Division through 60 games with a 28-18-14 record and 70 points.
Toronto Maple Leafs
Captain Auston Matthews and star winger William Nylander skated on the top line during Monday’s practice as the struggling Maple Leafs prepared to take on the visiting Philadelphia Flyers.
Anthony Stolarz is the projected starter in net.
Forward Nick Robertson and defenceman Troy Stecher will not be in the lineup for Monday’s game against the Flyers.
“I have to make decisions on the lineup. I felt Nicky’s game has dropped off, even before the break a little bit. He’s going to get a reset today. Similar for Stecher,” said head coach Craig Berube.
The Maple Leafs have dropped three straight games since returning for the Olympic break and have been outscored 14-5.
With the March 6 trade deadline quickly approaching, the Maple Leafs hold a 27-24-9 record through 60 games, eight points behind the Boston Bruins for the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
Matthews, 28, has scored 26 goals and 25 assists over 54 games in 2025-26, his 10th season with the Maple Leafs.
The 29-year-old Nylander has 19 goals and 36 assists over 43 games this season, his 11th campaign in Toronto.
