The Winnipeg Jets announced the signing of Henry Thrun to a one-year, two-way deal on Thursday.

The deal will pay the 25-year-old defenceman $850,000 at the NHL level.

A native of Southborough, MA, Thrun split last season between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the AHL’s Toronto Marlies. He appeared in four games for the Leafs and 55 for the Marlies. He also appeared in 24 playoff contests for the Marlies en route to a Calder Cup championship.

Acquired in the summer of 2025 in exchange for forward Ryan Reaves, Thrun spent the previous three seasons with the San Jose Sharks. Originally taken with the 101st overall selection of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Thrun has appeared in 123 NHL games over four seasons. He has five goals and 20 assists.

Internationally, Thrun has represented the United States on a number of occasions, including as part of a gold medal-winning effort at the 2021 IIF World Junior Hockey Championship in Edmonton.
