Winnipeg Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi and defenceman Dylan DeMelo will be joining teammate Mark Scheifele on Team Canada at the 2026 World Hockey Championships in May.

Vilardi, 26, played all 82 games for the first time in his seven season career, recording 30 goals and 69 points.
Winnipeg finished eight points behind the Los Angeles Kings for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
The Kingston, Ont. native previously represented Canada at the World Hockey Championships in 2021, picking up a gold medal.
Drafted 11th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 2017, Vilardi has 120 goals and 244 points in 352 career games split between the Kings and Jets.
DeMelo, 32, appeared in all 82 games for the third straight season and had three goals and 19 points while averaging 21:27 of ice time.
The London, Ont., native has never represented Canada internationally in his 12-season career.
Originally drafted 179th overall in by the San Jose Sharks 2011, DeMelo has 23 goals and 182 points in 718 career games split between the Sharks, Ottawa Senators, and Jets.
Vilardi, DeMelo, and Scheifele will be joining Toronto Maple Leafs forward John Tavares, St. Louis Blues forward Robert Tomas, and Nashville Predators veteran Ryan O’Reilly who have also confirmed to be joining the team.
