The Detroit Red Wings have signed unrestricted free agent forward Viktor Arvidsson to a two-year, $10 million contract that carries a $5 million cap hit, per TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun.
Arvidsson, 33, had 25 goals and 54 points in 69 games with the Boston Bruins last season. He added two goals in four playoff games as the Bruins were eliminated in the first round.
The 5-foot-10 winger is coming off a two-year, $8 million contract that carried a cap hit of $4 million.
Drafted 112th overall by the Nashville Predators in 2014, Arvidsson has 219 goals and 443 points in 682 career games split between the Predators, Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and Bruins.
The Skelleftea, Sweden native represented his country at last season’s 4 Nations Face-Off in a third-place finish. He also represented Sweden at the 2018 World Hockey Championship, taking home a gold medal.
