The Dallas Stars have signed goaltender Casey DeSmith to a two-year, $5 million contract extension on Wednesday.
The deal carries an AAV of $2.5 million.
DeSmith is heading into his third season with the Stars. Last season, he appeared in 30 games, going 15-8-6 with a .907 save percentage and 2.43 goals-against average.
“Extending Casey has been a priority for us, and we’re excited to have him locked up for two more years,” said Stars general manager Jim Nill. “He’s been incredibly reliable during his time with our organization, and we are looking forward to the tandem of Casey and Jake continuing to anchor our team moving forward.”
The 35-year-old is in the final season of a three-year, $3 million contract he signed in July of 2024.
The Rochester, New Hampshire native has appeared in 220 career NHL games split between the Pittsburgh Penguins, Vancouver Canucks and Stars.
