Joseph, 29, became an unrestricted free agent after going unclaimed on waivers earlier on Friday.
The Laval, Que. native was placed on unconditional waivers for the purpose of contract termination by the St. Louis Blues on Thursday.
Joseph had recorded two goals and nine assists for 11 points in 39 games this season, his second in St. Louis after being traded from the Ottawa Senators in 2024.
Prior to his contract being terminated, Joseph was in the final season of a four-year, $11.80 million deal that carried a cap hit of $2.95 million.
A fourth-round pick in 2015, Joseph has 61 goals and 160 points in 459 career NHL games split between the Blues, Senators, and Tampa Bay Lightning.
