The Minnesota Frost have signed star forwards Taylor Heise and Kelly Pannek to three-year deals, the team announced on Wednesday.

Both players will now be protected in the expansion roster distribution process, leaving the Frost with one player slot still to be protected.

Heise, 26, and Pannek, 30, were both announced as finalists for the 2026 PWHL Forward of the Year award on May 19.

Pannek set a league record for points in a single season this year with 33, thanks to a league-leading 16 goals and 17 assists.

Heise finished the 2025-26 campaign with 13 goals and 30 points - and the pair became the first two players in league history to reach 30 points in a single season. She also set a PWHL single-season record with six multi-assists games this season.

The pair have been with Minnesota since the PWHL’s inaugural season, and helped Minnesota to back-to-back Walter Cup titles in 2023-24 and 2024-25.

During Phase 1 of the roster distribution process, teams may protect three players that are under contract for the 2026-27 season.
