The Montreal Victoire made a series of moves on Thursday afternoon ahead of the resumption of PWHL play after the Olympic break.
The team announced that forward Marie-Philip Poulin was day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will not dress in Thursday night’s game against the New York Sirens. Additionally, defender Erin Ambrose was placed on long-term injured reserve with a lower-body injury. Both women incurred their injuries during Canada’s Olympic tournament.
“We are extremely proud of what our athletes accomplished at the Olympic Winter Games. They represented their country and our league brilliantly,” Victoire general manager Danièle Sauvageau said in a statement. “The constant communication between the national teams and our organization will help us support our players in their return to action, and we are confident that they will be back in the lineup in the near future.”
In corresponding moves, Tamara Giaquinto has been signed to a standard PWHL agreement while Kelly-Ann Nadeau has been signed to a 10-day deal. Both defenders come from the Victoire’s Reserve List.
The 2025 Billie Jean Most Valuable Player, the 34-year-old Poulin has seven goals and seven assists in 15 games this season.
Ambrose, 31, has four assists in 14 games played.
As play resumes, the Victoire sit third in league standings on 27 points from 15 games. They trail the first-place Minnesota Frost by three points.
