PWHL Detroit inks Compher to three-year deal

There will be two Compher siblings in the Motor City this fall.

PWHL Detroit announced the signing of Jesse Compher to a three-year deal on Monday.

Compher’s older brother, J.T. Compher, is a forward for the Detroit Red Wings.

A 26-year-old native of Northbrook, IL, Compher spent the past three seasons with the Toronto Sceptres. She appeared in 30 games this past season, scoring six goals and adding six assists. In 84 PHWL games, Compher has 16 goals and 19 assists for her career.

Internationally, the Wisconsin product has represented the United States on numerous occasions, including in gold medal-winning efforts at the 2019 and 2025 IIHF World Championships and at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.

Compher becomes Detroit’s fifth and final Phase 2 player, joining former Sceptres teammate Darryl Watts, forwards Britta Curl-Salemme and Hannah Bilka and defender Cayla Barnes.
