Sceptres place defender Munroe on LTIR, sign defender Baskin to contract

Published:

The playoff hopeful Toronto Sceptres have placed defender Allie Munroe on the long-term injured after the alternate captain suffered a lower-body injury during a game against the Ottawa Charge on April 1.

Munroe will be out of the lineup indefinitely.

In a corresponding move, the Sceptres signed rookie defender Hanna Baskin to a PWHL contract.

Munroe, 28, has two assists over 19 games this season, her third in Toronto. The native of Yarmouth, N.S., missed six games earlier this season, also due to a lower-body injury.

The 22-year-old Baskin hasn’t recorded a point over six games with the Sceptres in 2025-26, her rookie season in the PWHL. The American was selected in the sixth round of the 2025 PWHL Draft out of the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

With five games remaining in the regular season, Toronto is holding down the fourth and final playoff spot, just one point ahead of the Ottawa Charge.

The Sceptres and Charge go head-to-head on Saturday.
