England has a 21-8 advantage over Canada at the end of the first half in the Women’s Rugby World Cup final.
Playing at home in London, the Red Roses recorded three tries in the first half compared to one for Canada.
Asia Hogan-Rochester put Canada on the board first with a try in the opening minutes, but Canada missed the conversion and had to settle for a 5-0 lead.
England quickly answered and went on to score three straight tries before a conversion gave Canada a lifeline and made the score 21-8.
Earlier on Saturday, New Zealand defeated 42-26 France to claim bronze at the Women’s Rugby World Cup.
