Canada announced a 26-man roster for the upcoming international window.
The CanMNT is set for friendlies with Iceland and Tunisia in Toronto next week.
“There’s a real excitement in this group right now and playing at home in Canada is something the players never take for granted,” Canada manager Jesse Marsch said in a statement. “Our fans have been incredible, and we’re calling on them to come out, fill BMO Field, and be part of what we’re building as we head towards the World Cup.”
Among the names on the roster is Bim Pepple. The Plymouth Argyle striker has starred in League One this season. Born in Kettering, England, Pepple grew up in Calgary. He has 14 goals across all competitions for the Pilgrims this season.
Tigres winger Marcelo Flores is in line for his first Canada cap, as is Vancouver Whitecaps defender Ralph Priso.
Not on the roster are captain Alphonso Davies, who was injured last week in Bayern Munich’s Champions League match with Atalanta, and vice-captain Stephen Eustaquio, who picked up a knee injury in a freak collision with a referee last week. Eustaquio is on loan from Porto at Los Angeles FC.
