Canada named a 20-player roster for this month’s friendly against Guatemala on Tuesday.

The CanMNT will play Guatemala on Jan. 17 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

With the camp, set to open on Jan. 8, and the friendly falling outside of an official FIFA window, no European-based players were selected for the team. Three Canadian Premier League players were selected in Inter Toronto’s Shola Jimoh, Noah Abatneh of Atletico Ottawa and the Halifax Wanderers’ Tiago Coimbra. The roster features eight uncapped players.

“We’re excited to have an extra opportunity to have a Men’s National Team camp ahead of a massive year,” manager Jesse Marsch said in a statement. “We have a very talented squad of North American-based players who will be hungry to prove themselves. 2026 is going to be pivotal for Canada and for this program, let’s be ready to seize the moment. Go Canada!”

Considered a Tier 1 friendly, the match will count towards the FIFA World Rankings.
