Marc Cucurella is a man of his word.
The Real Madrid defender promised to get a tattoo of manager Luis de la Fuente if Spain won the World Cup and he lived up to his vow.
The 28-year-old Cucurella showed off his new ink on his upper left arm on Instagram on Wednesday.
“Promise kept,” Cucurella captioned the post.
Spain defeated 10-man Argentina, 1-0, after extra time in the July 19 Final on a goal from Ferran Torres. Cucurella featured in all eight of Spain’s matches. The World Cup comes two years after Spain captured the Euro becoming the third squad to win a World Cup as the European champions.
A native of Alella, Cucurella is back in Spain with Los Blancos after five years in England. Following a season with Brighton, Cucurella spent the past four seasons at Chelsea. The Barcelona youth product most recently played in Spain with Getafe.
Real Madrid opens its La Liga campaign on Aug. 22 with a visit to Espanyol.
