Former Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli has been permitted to train independently at the club as he looks to continue his career.
The 29-year-old ex-England midfielder has been without a club since the fall after his contract with Como was cancelled after a single appearance. Playing in his first match in 748 days, Dele came on as a substitute for Cesc Fabregas’s side in a match against Milan on March 15, 2025 in the 81st minute. His appearance lasted just 10 minutes after he was sent off for a rash challenge on Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Milan won the game by a score of 2-1.
A native of Milton Keynes, Dele joined Spurs in 2015 from boyhood club MK Dons. In 2018, he was rated as the most valuable midfielder in Europe by the Centre International d’Etude du Sport, assigning him a value of €163.4 million, ranking him above the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante. He went on to make 181 appearances over seven seasons for the team, scoring 51 goals, but he lost his world-class form.
He would go on to spend three seasons at Everton with a loan spell at Besiktas.
Internationally, Dele made 37 appearances for the Three Lions from 2015 to 2019, scoring three goals. He was a key member of the side that went to the semi-finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
