Manchester United has its first move of the offseason in place.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports the team has agreed to a £35 million deal with Atalanta for Ederson.
The 26-year-old Brazil midfielder joins as compatriot Casemiro heads for the exit doors.
Ornstein notes the deal could rise another to £40 million in add-ons.
A native of Campo Grande, Ederson spent the past four seasons with La Dea. He appeared in 41 matches across all competitions this past season. Ederson was a key part of the team that won the 2024 Europa League title.
Internationally, Ederson has been capped three times by the Selecao after making his senior debut in 2024.
The deal is still pending a medical and won’t be finalized until early July.
Returning to the Champions League next season after missing out on Europe entirely this past season, United is expected to be busy in the transfer window with the midfield of particular focus for manager Michael Carrick.
