Canada has made a roster shuffle ahead of Tuesday’s friendly with Venezuela.
Nashville’s Jacob Shaffelburg has been called into the team in place of Cyle Larin.

Nashville SC’s Jacob Shaffelburg has been called into CANMNT camp to replace Feyenoord's Cyle Larin for the upcoming match against Venezuela due to injury.

The 30-year-old Feyenoord forward, on loan from Mallorca, has withdrawn with injury. A native of Brampton, Ont., Larin did not feature in Canada’s 0-0 draw with Ecuador at BMO Field in Toronto this past Thursday night.
Shaffelburg, 25, just completed his seventh Major League Soccer campaign and fourth with Nashville. He appeared in 23 matches this season, scoring four goals and setting up two others. A native of Kentville, NS, Shaffelburg is a product of the Toronto FC academy and spent the first three-plus seasons of his career with the Reds.
Internationally, he’s been capped 30 times by Canada and has scored six goals. He last featured in Canada’s scoreless draw with Colombia in October, playing 20 minutes. Shaffelburg’s last goal for Canada came in a 2-1 win over the United States in a Sept. 2024 friendly.
Canada’s match will Venezuela, in Fort Lauderdale, FL, will be its final match of 2025 as it gears up to co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup next summer in Toronto and Vancouver.
