Jeevan Badwal will not take part in any of Canada’s three friendlies during the international window.
The Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder exited the team’s camp in Toronto on Wednesday to return to his Major League Soccer club with an undisclosed injury.
A 20-year-old native of Surrey, BC, Badwal was in line for his first official senior appearance. He previously appeared for the Canada “B” side in a January friendly against Guatemala. Badwal has previously represented Canada at the U-17 and U-20 levels.
A product of the Whitecaps academy, Badwal made his senior debut in a 2024 Canadian Championship match. He made his first MLS appearance in 2025 and went on to make 25 league appearances in his first full campaign. Thus far in 2026, Badwal has made 31 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals.
Canada is set to take on Chile at Toronto’s BMO Field on Saturday. Jesse Marsch’s side will then head to Montreal to face Peru on Oct. 3. The window concludes with a match against the United States in St. Paul on Oct. 6.
