The Vancouver Whitecaps announced a new deal for Ralph Priso on Thursday.
The extension will take the Canada defender through the 2028-2029 Major League Soccer season.
Priso, 24, is in his third season with the club. The Toronto native has made 13 appearances across all competitions in 2026.
“Ralph came to us with a strong foundation and has continued to develop into a more complete player,” Whitecaps sporting director Axel Schuster said in a statement. “His growth over the past two seasons, both with our club and now at the international level, is a testament to the work he has put in and the environment we have created here. We’re very pleased that he has committed his future to the club, and we believe there is still much more to come from him.”
A product of the Toronto FC academy, Priso made his senior debut for the Reds in 2020. He was traded to the Colorado Rapids in the middle of the 2022 season before being shipped to the Whitecaps at the beginning of the 2024 campaign. Utilized as a midfielder for much of his early career, he was converted to central defence late in the 2025 season and became an integral part of the backline that led the Whitecaps to the 2025 MLS Cup Final.
“I’m extremely happy to extend my contract in Vancouver,” Priso said in a statement. “I’m so grateful to my teammates, the coaching staff, and everyone at the club for the role they’ve played in my growth and development. I can’t wait to continue this journey together and keep working toward our goal of bringing the MLS Cup to our fans.”
For his career, Priso has three goals over 109 MLS games across seven seasons.
Internationally, Priso has been capped three times by Canada’s senior side, making his debut in a friendly against Iceland this past March.
