Sunday will be a day of celebration as the FIFA World Cup 2026 comes to a close.
The closing ceremony will take place 90 minutes ahead of the highly anticipated final between Spain and the defending champions, Argentina, and will feature a lineup of global superstars and performers.
The show is meant to “celebrate the 48 teams’ unforgettable journey” through 16 host cities across three countries, FIFA said in a statement.
The ceremony will feature performances from Laura Pausini, the Italian singer who helped open the Milan Cortina Olympics in February, Tony winner and Pussycat Dolls member Nicole Scherzinger, British singer Robbie Williams, and streamer IShowSpeed, as well as a special appearance from actor Tom Cruise.
“Echoing the spirit of the opening ceremonies, which welcomed the world to the greatest stage in Canada, Mexico and the United States, the closing ceremony will bring the FIFA World Cup 2026 full circle through music, culture and football, before we kick off the highly anticipated match that will crown the champions of this groundbreaking tournament,” said Heimo Schirgi, Chief Operating Officer of the FIFA World Cup 2025.
FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show
The FIFA World Cup 2026 halftime show will feature another world-class group of performers at New York New Jersey Stadium.
Madonna, Shakira, Justin Bieber and BTS will co-headline the 11-minute performance curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, which will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which is raising $100 million to help children access education and soccer.
“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can,” Bieber said in a statement. “I’m grateful to be part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world.”
Afrobeats star Burna Boy, Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus will also perform, the last joined by Coldplay.
