Serena Williams receives wild card Wimbledon singles entry

Published:

Serena Williams will compete in the 2026 Wimbledon singles portion of the tournament as a wild card entry, it was announced Sunday afternoon.

Williams, 44, was previously confirmed to be participating in doubles at Wimbledon alongside her sister, Venus.

The announcement continues a return to professional tennis that began at the Queen’s Club in doubles alongside Canadian Vicky Mboko earlier this month. That was Williams’ first official professional action since the 2022 U.S. Open.

Williams has 23 career Grand Slam singles titles with seven of them coming at Wimbledon. She’s also won 14 doubles Slams, including six alongside her sister at the All England Club.

The main draw of the tournament runs from June 29 to July 12 in London.
