The re-imagined Youngblood, inspired by the 1986 film of the same name, is a love letter to the game of hockey. Marshalled by the late Charles Officer until his death in 2023, and directed by Academy Award nominee Hubert Davis, Youngblood explores masculinity, race and relationship through protagonist Dean Youngblood. Breakout star Alexandra McDonald who plays Jessie Chadwick, joined The Shift ahead of the film's release to talk about her own journey through hockey as a player, how sports and acting have instinctively intertwined in her life, her special connection with Charles Officer and more.
