Phoenix Mercury guard Kelsey Plum will miss her first game against her former team -- the Los Angeles Sparks -- on Tuesday due to a lower left leg injury.
Plum suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to the Washington Mystics; she exited the game after 14 minutes due to what the team called left calf tightness.
Plum had been sidelined since June 21 due to a lower left leg injury, and only made her return in her Mercury debut on Aug. 3.
"We wanted to be safe," Mercury coach Nate Tibbetts said of Plum's exit after Sunday's game. "We'll just see in the next couple days how it looks."
The game against the Mystics was Plum's fourth in a Mercury jersey after she was acquired in a blockbuster deal on Aug. 1. Enjoying the best season in her 10th year in the league, Plum was seen as the prize of last week's deadline. She's just the fourth WNBA All-Star to be traded at the midseason deadline in league history.
Plum is averaging 22.3 points on the season and had performances of 20, 19 and 25 points for Phoenix before the injury.
