The Toronto Tempo’s inaugural season in the WNBA continues Tuesday night against one of the biggest names in basketball.
Marina Mabrey and the Tempo will look to snap a two-game losing streak as they take on sharpshooting superstar Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, the first game of a three-game road swing.
You can watch the action LIVE at 7pm ET/4pm PT on TSN2, TSN.ca and the TSN App.
“I love going on the road. It’s an opportunity for us to continue to grow together, bond together,” head coach Sandy Brondello said on Sunday. “[We will be] playing really good teams, and hopefully [get to] continue to show more of our identity as we go.”
The Tempo currently sit at 7-7 after dropping back-to-back games to the Washington Mystics on Friday and a 25-point loss to Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream at home on Sunday.
Toronto is currently dealing with a handful of injuries as centre Nyara Sabally has missed the last two games with a tweaked hamstring while promising rookie guard Kiki Rice hasn’t played since June 3 with an ankle sprain.
Centre Temi Fagbenle recently returned to game action after being sidelined for more than a month with a shoulder injury.
Toronto’s strong first season in the WNBA has been highlighted by the play of veteran guards Mabrey and Brittney Sykes.
Mabrey, 29, is averaging 17.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists over 14 games, while Sykes, 32, is averaging a team-high 20.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists over 14 games.
Both players are on the ballot for the WNBA All-Star Game, scheduled to run July 24-25 in Chicago.
Toronto is tied with the Los Angeles Sparks for the final playoff spot in the WNBA.
Brondello says the Tempo need to stay in the moment amid an inaugural season that could have its fair share of peak and valleys.
“Just trying to have consistent effort and execution for as long a period as we can, but staying in the moment, not getting too high, too low,” Brondello said after Sunday’s blowout loss. “I think sometimes the emotions get the best of us, and take away from how we want to play, but they’re all controllable.”
Taking on Clark

They’ll have their hands full on Tuesday against Clark and the 8-5 Fever, who have won three straight contests.
After playing only 13 games during her sophomore season of 2025 due to injuries, Clark has been one of the best players in the WNBA this season, averaging 20.3 points, 7.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds alongside a 40.7 field goal percentage over 12 games.
Slowing down Clark is just one of the players the Tempo will need to slow down in order to pick up a road victory.
Guard Kelsey Mitchell is averaging 20.3 points on 45.4 per cent shooting while centre Aliyah Boston is averaging 17.0 points and a team-high 8.4 rebounds.
Despite Clark missing most of last season, the Fever were just one win away from advancing to the WNBA Finals, losing to eventual champions, the Las Vegas Aces, in five games in the league semifinal.
Following their game against Indiana, the Tempo travel to Connecticut to play the lowly Sun (2-13) on Friday and the Dream (9-4) in Atlanta on Monday before returning home.
