Hockey sticks have evolved a lot over the past few decades, from the classic wooden twig to today’s ultra-light composite technology. You’d think that evolution happened for a reason… but Eric wanted to find out for himself.
So we asked the question: how hard would it actually be to use a wooden stick in a beer league game?
We put it to the test so you don’t have to.
There’s no such thing as a bad experiment… right?
After all, if Darryl Sittler could put up 10 points in a single game with a wooden stick, surely someone on the BarDown roster could come close.
Let’s just say… the other team didn’t exactly love the wooden stick experience.
And when the highlight of the night is Jesse having to climb into the crowd to grab his stick back from a kid? That might be a sign.
Experiment complete.
Safe to say BarDown will not be switching back to wooden sticks in 2026.
