Tonight, we’ll turn our attention to Week 1 of the NFL preseason with six games on tap as we search for the next member of our beloved August heroes club.
Meanwhile, we’re on to Week 11 of the CFL season with a West Division showdown between the BC Lions and the Calgary Stampeders at McMahon Stadium tonight.

In the meantime, let’s dive into the keys to tonight’s clash and lock in a play or two from this week’s football menu in this Morning Coffee for Thursday, August 13th, 2026.
Stampeders Expected To Bounce Back Versus Lions In CFL Week 11 Opener
We’re 94 days away from the 113th Grey Cup in Calgary.
It wasn’t that long ago that the Stampeders were the favourite to win the Grey Cup at FanDuel.
However, Calgary has since dropped three of its last five, including last week’s 33-30 loss to the Toronto Argonauts.
With a 4-5 record, the Stampeders are currently looking up at the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Edmonton Elks, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the loaded West Division.
Tonight, they’ll aim to get back on track against an opponent that is right behind them in the 3-5 Lions.
BC welcomed back Nathan Rourke in a 27-24 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday night.
While he ultimately did enough to get the victory, Rourke admitted to a little rust after he went 22-of-39 for 370 yards and two touchdowns in his return.
Justin McInnis registered five receptions for 159 yards and a touchdown in the win over Hamilton.
Meanwhile, Jevon Cottoy recorded seven catches for 109 yards in his return to the Lions lineup.
Tonight, Rourke will welcome back another piece on offence as Stanley Berryhill III joins McInnis, Cottoy, and Keon Hatcher Sr. at wide receiver.
The Stampeders have scored 30 or more points in eight straight games dating back to Week 3.
Rourke and the offence will need to keep pace if BC is going to pull off the upset win on the road.
Maybe we’ll see a little more magic from him tonight.
Rourke threw for 462 yards and three touchdowns in the previous meeting between these teams back in Week 4, but it wasn’t enough in a 41-33 loss.
One mistake late in the first half was the key difference, as the Lions followed up a Jalen Philpot touchdown with a fumble on the ensuing kickoff return, which led to another Calgary touchdown right before the break.
The Stampeders outscored BC 14-0 in the final 1:14 of the first half in that 41-33 victory.
Tyreik McAllister put the game out of reach with a punt return touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Vernon Adams Jr. went 19-of-29 for 229 yards and three touchdowns in an efficient performance.
Coming off his worst performance of the season in last week’s loss to the Argos, Adams should be motivated to bounce back in front of the home crowd tonight.
Adams went 12-of-24 for 159 yards and threw his first two interceptions of the season in the loss to Toronto.
The fact that the Calgary defence forced five turnovers including four interceptions and didn’t pick up the win must be a concern for head coach Dave Dickenson.
With three straight home games against the Lions, Tiger-Cats, and Elks, the Stampeders have an opportunity to make everybody forget about their recent struggles.
Dickenson can become the 12th coach in CFL history with 100 career wins.
Rourke is 4-1 straight up all-time versus Calgary, but the Stampeders are a 4.5-point favourite at FanDuel.
The Lions are +184 to pull off the upset win on the road.
With all five teams separated by just three wins in the CFL West Division standings, tonight’s showdown marks a crossroads for both Calgary and BC.

In the meantime, I’ll lock in a couple of plays that include one CFL game and three NFL pre-season games.
First up, I’ll take over 41.5 for tonight’s NFL exhibition between the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders.
Arizona’s rookie third round pick Carson Beck threw for 188 yards and a touchdown in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game loss at the buzzer.
Tonight, Beck should get some decent playing time opposite first overall pick Fernando Mendoza, who is set to make his preseason debut.
The Cardinals are expected to play Jacoby Brissett and their starters, with fellow veteran Gardner Minshew also getting some snaps before handing the keys off to Beck.
Arizona’s offence registered 425 total yards and scored 30 points in the loss to Carolina.
With a game under their belt and the starters expected to get some playing time, they should be able to put up similar numbers against the Raiders tonight.
Meanwhile, Las Vegas will start veteran Kirk Cousins, before we get a look at Mendoza in black and white.
Aidan O’Connell is 27 years old and auditioning for an NFL job behind Cousins and Mendoza, so I’m expecting some success from the Raiders QBs against an Arizona defence that was carved up by King and Kenny Pickett.
This number has already been bet up to 41.5, but I believe that movement is justified and still like the over.
Next up, I’ll parlay the Tennessee Titans to beat the San Francisco 49ers with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to beat the Ottawa Redblacks on CFL Friday Night Football.
The 49ers reportedly won’t play any of their starters.
Meanwhile, the Titans are expected to play second-year QB Cam Ward and some of their starters as first-year head coach Robert Saleh returns to San Francisco.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan doesn’t care about exhibition wins, but his former DC Saleh will be motivated to begin his time in Tennessee with a win.
In case you missed it, Davis Sanchez locked in the Bombers at -6.5 as his Early Lean for CFL Week 11.
Veteran QB Zach Collaros set to return, and Winnipeg in a must-win spot against the winless Redblacks.
Rather than lay the points with Tennessee in a preseason game, I’ll parlay the Titans and Bombers to win at -118.
Hopefully, we can go 2-0 with these FanDuel Best Bets.
