It doesn’t get much more historic than 2024 in the WNBA.

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese took the league by storm last year, shattering records on the court, drawing in historic viewership numbers, and rapidly growing their brands off the court.

If you’re a basketball fan, it’s been hard to miss.

Clark and Reese are seemingly everywhere, and success just seems to follow them and their impact on the growth of women’s basketball seems to grow with each passing day.

That impact is also being felt in the betting space, as FanDuel has birthed a few specialty markets for the year, spotlighting the game’s youngest and brightest stars.

And in 2025, a new character has emerged. Paige Bueckers, the No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft, has arrived and is looking to make the same instant impact that Clark and Reese had in 2024.

Regarding a championship and MVP, the odds favour Clark and her Indiana Fever over Reese’s Chicago Sky and Bueckers' Dallas Wings.

The Fever have the fourth best odds to win the title while Sky and Wings both sit outside the top eight.

Clark also has the shortest odds of any player in the league to win MVP at +200 while Reese comes in at 10th with 80-1 odds to win MVP and Bueckers isn’t too far behind

Here is a look at a few other prices for these three players in award markets.

Buckers hasn’t played a regular season game yet in the WNBA and expectations feel like they can’t be any higher.

The rookie is +100 to average five assists per game this season, a mark that would have had her inside the top eight in the league last year.

As a senior at UConn, Bueckers averaged 4.6 assists per game and only averaged more than five per game in one of her four seasons in college.

Spiker’s Thoughts

In nine seasons in Dallas, the Wings have made it past the first round of the playoffs just once and have missed the postseason outright four times, including last year.

The Wings made it clear this offseason it’s time to do something different.

Lottery luck got them the first overall pick and they took UConn superstar Paige Bueckers in hopes she can help turn the franchise around. The 23-year-old is coming off a senior season where she averaged 19.9 points and 4.6 assists and helped the Huskies win their first national championship since 2016.

She joins Arike Ogunbowale, who has been the offensive catalyst for Dallas the past six years. This is the most talented squad Ogunbowale has had around her. In 2024, she averaged 22.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 38 games.

New general manager Curt Miller made several notable additions, adding reigning WNBA Most Improved Player DiJonai Carrington, NaLyssa Smith, Tyasha Harris and Myisha Hines-Allen to the lineup.

Unlike top rookies Clark and Reese last year, Bueckers comes into a situation where the Wings made the moves to ensure they are a playoff team this year. While they aren’t considered a contender just yet, the presence of Bueckers has heightened the expectations in Dallas and if history has shown us anything, Bueckers has the goods to deliver on that hype.
