Trailing by one with five holes to play, Patrick Flavin (Highwood, Illinois) birdied Nos. 14-16 to take the lead and finish with a two-stroke victory at the 94 Abierto del Centro Zurich presentado por Personal in Cordoba, Argentina.

Flavin closed with a 4-under 67 at Cordoba Golf Club to overtake third-round leader Patrick Sheehan (Doylestown, Pennsylvania) for his second PGA TOUR-sanctioned victory and first since 2019.

“To execute well under pressure was a huge thrill and I think something I’ll kind of feed off of going into the rest of the season and honestly rest of my career,” Flavin said of his three straight birdies, which included a chip-in on No. 14.

“It’s absolutely huge to win. … I’ve played a lot on different levels and what my goal has been for this season is just to kind of put my head down, enjoy being out here and playing.”

A four-time Mid-American Conference First Team selection at Miami (Ohio) University (2014-18), Flavin began his career on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica and won his eighth start, the Bupa Match Play in Mexico, en route to finishing No. 6 on the 2019 Order of Merit.

Since that victory, he posted 11 top-10s across all tours before returning to the winner’s circle Sunday in his 111th career TOUR-sanctioned start, breaking a winless drought of 6 years, 329 days.

“I had a couple weeks on the PGA TOUR that showed me I belong out there, I truly believe that that’s where I belong,” said Flavin, who moves to No. 1 on the PGA TOUR Americas Points List. “I’ve always said to myself as long as I believe that I belong on the PGA TOUR, I’ll keep playing.”

Marcos Montenegro (Loberia, Argentina) closed with a 1-under 70 and was the low Argentinian at T10, while reigning Latin America Amateur Championship winner Mateo Pulcini (Rio Cuarto, Argentina) finished T27 at 4-under.

Mason Greene (Tustin, California), winner of the season-opening 71st ECP Brazil Open, finished T56 and is No. 2 on the season-long points list after the second of 15 events in 2026. PGA TOUR Americas returns to action May 14-17 for the Diners Club Peru Open in Lima, Peru.
