Little returns to Blue Jays after spending two months in the minors

Published:

Relief pitcher Brendon Little is back with the Toronto Blue Jays after spending over two months looking to find his form in the minors.

Little’s struggles to end the 2025 season carried over to the 2026 campaign, posting a 24.55 ERA with a 3.54 WHIP over five games and 3.2 innings pitched in late March and early April.

The 29-year-old lefty also allowed three home runs and three walks this season before being sent to Triple-A following a disastrous appearance against the Chicago White Sox on May 4.

Little has been able to produce better results with the Buffalo Bisons, recording a 5-0 record with a 2.31 ERA and a 1.467 WHIP over 24 appearances and 23.1 innings pitched.

He’s allowed just one home run while striking out 32. Control has still been an issue for Little with 19 walks.

Little was one of Toronto’s most reliable relievers for a good portion of the 2025 season, finishing with a 3.03 ERA over 68.1 innings pitched.

Little struggled mightily down the stretch, however, and had a 11.25 ERA over four playoff innings which was enough to keep him off the World Series roster.

Right-handed pitcher Chad Dallas was sent down to Triple-A Buffalo in corresponding move.

The Blue Jays begin a three-game weekend series against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on Friday as they look to reach the .500 mark after sweeping the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Toronto sits at 37-38 heading into Friday’s action, currently holding down the third and final wild-card spot in the American League.
