DUBLIN, Ireland (AP) — TCU opened its season without top returning receiver Jordan Dwyer, who missed Saturday’s game against North Carolina in Ireland because of a lingering foot issue.
Dwyer had been listed as a game-time decision. He traveled with TCU for its first international game.
The game was the first start at TCU for quarterback Jaden Craig. The Harvard transfer took over after three-year starter Josh Hoover transferred to defending national champion Indiana.
Dwyer had nine catches for 136 yards and a touchdown in TCU’s 48-14 win at North Carolina in last year’s season opener.
He had 54 catches for 730 yards and seven touchdowns in 12 games for TCU last season after transferring from Idaho. He hurt his foot during practice before the Alamo Bowl and didn’t play when the Horned Frogs beat Southern California.
In 31 games for Idaho from 2022-24, Dwyer had 110 catches for 1,656 yards and 18 touchdowns.
