After playing in the NFC Championship game in 2024, the 2025 campaign has been a mess for the Washington Commanders.

Injuries have played no small part in that - both reigning offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels and star wide receiver Terry McLaurin have spent two separate stints off the field while dealing with injuries.

McLaurin has been slowed by a quadriceps injury suffered in Week 3 that robbed him of four games. He returned in Week 8 only to aggravate the injury and miss another three before making a triumphant return last week against the Denver Broncos.

That was the first game this season where McLaurin - a two-time Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro last season - truly looked like himself. The 30-year-old deep threat caught seven passes for 96 yards and a touchdown in overtime in the 27-26 loss (the Commanders would not convert the two-point try for the win).

Those marks were season highs across the board, along with the 14 targets he received from veteran stand-in QB Marcus Mariota.

Eight of those targets came while McLaurin was covered by Patrick Surtain II, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year. He caught his touchdown in overtime against Surtain in man coverage - the first touchdown Surtain had allowed in coverage since Week 13 of 2024, per Next Gen Stats.

It’s been a lost season for the most part for McLaurin, who is following a career-best campaign in 2024 that saw him catch 82 passes for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns with a deflating 20 catches for 299 yards and a pair of scores.

However, with a first dominant performance of the season under his belt and star QB Daniels returning to the lineup, McLaurin is primed to continue performing at a high level in Week 14 when the Commanders take on the Minnesota Vikings.

Christian Watson - Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers – 4 p.m. ET

Christian Watson Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson suffered a torn ACL in the final week of the 2024 season, an unfortunate injury that caused him to miss the Packers’ lone playoff game last year and the first seven weeks of this season.

Watson made his season debut in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the team elected to ease the fourth-year wideout in slowly - sending four passes his way in each of his first three games.

His usage has spiked in the three weeks since though, culminating in perhaps his best effort of the year in the Packers’ massive 31-24 victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 13.

Watson caught four passes for 80 yards on a season-high 10 targets, including a 51-year touchdown that helped the Packers beat their division rivals for the second time this season.

With that strong performance, Watson has now caught 13 passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns over the past three games, providing an electric deep-ball threat for QB Jordan Love and the Packers offence.

Watson’s return earlier in the season has helped offset a few notable absences due to injuries picked up throughout the year in Green Bay. Both tight end Tucker Kraft and WR Jayden Reed have missed extensive time due to injuries - Kraft will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

But with Watson continuing to deliver strong production, he is confident the offence is in good shape as playoffs approach.

“We’ve got dogs,” Watson said after Green Bay’s victory over the Lions. “We’ve got some playmakers. We’re only going to get better and better as we get everybody back, so I’m excited to see it when everybody gets back.”
