VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Canucks have signed forward Chase Wouters to a one-year, two-way contract, the NHL club announced Wednesday.
Wouters, 26, has played his entire professional career with the American Hockey League’s Abbotsford Canucks since signing as an undrafted free agent before the team’s inaugural 2021-22 season.
He has been team captain since 2022.
Wouters holds franchise records for games played (338) and playoff games played (38) with Abbotsford and was key to the team’s first Calder Cup championship in 2024-25.
Last season, Wouters appeared in 70 games, scoring 26 points with 76 penalty minutes. He has accumulated 120 points and 316 penalty minutes in his AHL career.
The North Battleford, Saskatchewan native has represented Canada internationally at the 2018 U18 World Championships and the 2016 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, winning silver in the latter.
