Hurricanes F Jarvis to miss four to six months after shoulder surgery

Published:

Carolina Hurricanes general manager Eric Tulsky confirmed on Friday night that forwards Seth Jarvis and Eric Robinson both had surgery following the team’s Stanley Cup championship win earlier in the month.

Tulsky says Jarvis will be out probably four to six months after shoulder surgery while Robinson is out six to eight weeks following surgery on his knee.

Jarvis, 24, scored 32 goals with 66 points in 71 regular-season games. In the playoffs, he scored four goals with 11 points in 19 games as the Hurricanes defeated the Vegas Golden Knights in six games to win the franchise’s first Stanley Cup title since 2006.

Robinson recorded 12 goals with 18 points in 67 regular-season games in his second season with the Hurricanes. He added three goals and eight points in 19 playoff appearances.

Tulsky confirmed that Carolina could have an open spot in the lineup next season for a young player to skate with the big club.

“There’s a very real chance that we end up with sort of an open spot in our lineup for a month or two for a young player to step in and get an opportunity to show what he can do,” Tulsky said on Friday.

When asked about 2023 first-round pick Bradly Nadeau, Tulsky said he’s among those who will get a look next season.

“He absolutely will be in the conversation if we need a call-up at the start of the year. I think it would be a good opportunity for him to get some runway.”

Nadeau scored 27 goals with 56 points in 52 AHL games last season with the Chicago Wolves. He had seven goals with 17 games in 21 playoff games as he helped the Wolves reach the Calder Cup Finals before losing to the Toronto Marlies.

He skated in 13 games in 2025-26 with Carolina, scoring three goals.
