Carolina Hurricanes
The Carolina Hurricanes have activated goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov from injured reserve, the team announced Friday.
Defenceman K’Andre Miller was also placed on IR, retroactive to Oct. 10, in a corresponding move.
Kochetkov, 26, had missed the start of the regular season while dealing with a lower-body.
The Penza, Russia native resumed skating with the team on Monday for the first time since suffering the injury in practice ahead of the the team’s season opener earlier this month.
In 47 starts for Carolina last year, Kochetkov posted a 27-16-3 record with a 2.60 goals-against average and am .898 save percentage.
Miller, 25, had missed the team’s past four contests with a lower-body injury of his own.
The St. Paul, Minn. native got off to a hot start in his first season with the Hurricanes after being traded from the New York Rangers over the summer, posting two goals and two assists across his first six games played this year.
He began skating with the team on Monday, and once again participated in Friday’s practice but will not travel with the Hurricanes for their two-game road trip beginning Saturday, according to head coach Rod Brind’Amour.
Winnipeg Jets
Captain Adam Lowry and Nikita Chibrikov skated in “extras” jerseys at the Winnipeg Jets’ morning skate on Friday, while Gustav Nyquist was not seen on the ice after leaving Thursday’s game with an apparent injury.
Cole Perfetti and Dylan Samberg also participated in practice, with the pair once again sporting non-contact jerseys.
Lowry has missed the start of the season while recovering from off-season hip surgery, but shed the non-contact jersey earlier this week as he inches closer towards a return to play.
He recorded 16 goals and 34 points in 73 games played last season, leading the Jets to their first Presidents’ Trophy in franchise history.
Nyquist exited Thursday’s 6-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks in the first period, and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest with an undisclosed injury.
The Halmstad, Sweden native finished with an assist in just 1:28 before departing.
Perfetti suffered an ankle injury in Winnipeg’s preseason finale and was deemed to be week-to-week.
The 10th overall pick of the Jets in 2020 enjoyed a breakout season last year, totaling 18 goals and a career-high 50 points.
Like Perfetti, Samberg also suffered an injury in the preseason, a broken wrist, and has missed the start of the season for Winnipeg. Head coach Scott Arniel revealed that this initial timeline was six-to-eight weeks.
Winnipeg rolled out the following lines at practice on Friday, with third-year winger Brad Lambert skating next to Cole Koepke and Parker Ford on the fourth line.
Montreal Canadiens
Defenceman William Trudeau will report to the Montreal Canadiens’ American Hockey League affiliate Laval Rocket after going unclaimed on waivers.
Trudeau, 23, was placed on waivers Thursday for the purposes of a loan to the AHL.
The Varennes, Que. native has missed the start of the regular season after sustaining an injury during training camp, but remained on the roster while recovering.
Selected with the 113th overall pick in the 2021 draft by Montreal, Trudeau has scored 20 goals and 95 points across the past three seasons with Laval.
He re-signed with Montreal on a one-year, $775K deal this past summer.
Philadelphia Flyers
The Philadelphia Flyers have recalled Jacob Gaucher from AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the team announced Friday.
Defenceman Emil Andrae has been loaned back to the AHL in a corresponding move.
Gaucher heads back to the Flyers after being sent down earlier this week.
The 24-year-old forward skated in four games for Philadelphia last season, going without a point while recording two blocks and four hits.
The Longueuil, Que. native has totaled 29 goals and 27 assists in 137 games played in the American League.
Andrae, 23, was loaned following just one game back up with the big club on Thursday, logging 15:06 in a 4-1 win over the Nashville Predators.
The Swedish blue liner played in 42 games for Philadelphia last season, scoring a goal and seven points.
Boston Bruins
Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm announced Friday that forward Elias Lindholm will miss multiple weeks with a lower-body injury.
Strum also shared that the 30-year-olf forward will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury.
Lindholm exited Thursday’s 4-3 overtime win over the Buffalo Sabres in the second period after an awkward collision with Jordan Greenaway at centre ice.
The Boden, Sweden native remained down on the ice in the moments following the hit and was later helped back to the bench by his teammates.
Lindholm has scored four goals and nine points through 13 games to start his second season in Boston after inking a seven-year, $54.25 million deal with the team in free agency.
