David Pastrnak has been named the 28th captain in Boston Bruins history.
Pastrnak joins a long list of legendary Bruins captains, including 16 players who are in the Hockey Hall of Fame and nine whose numbers have been retired by the organization.
The 6-foot winger registered his fourth 100-point season, netting 29 goals and a career-high 71 assists over 77 games.
Pastrnak added three goals and four assists over six playoff games.
Selected by the Bruins 25th overall in 2014, Pastrnak has spent the entirety of his 12-year NHL career in Boston, recording 420 goals and 513 assists over 833 games.
He has 42 goals and 52 assists over 96 postseason contests.
Pastrnak is entering the fourth season of an eight-year, $90 million contract, featuring an average annual value of $11.25 million.
Brad Marchand served as the most recent captain of the Bruins from 2023 to 2025.
Patrice Bergeron will be the 10th former Bruins captain to have his number retired in December.
