Toronto Tempo rookie guard Kiki Rice will return to action on Tuesday against the Minnesota Lynx, head coach Sandy Brondello announced ahead of the contest.
Rice will play limited minutes for the Tempo in their first game after the WNBA All-Star break.
“Happy that she’s gotten back, she’s had two full days of practice, and we’ll keep building her up,” Brondello told the media. “We don’t want to go too crazy in the beginning... she’s someone we will continue building around.”
The 22-year-old has not played since June 3, when she suffered an ankle injury against the New York Liberty.
Rice was a full participant in practice on Monday and was listed as questionable to play against the Lynx.
The San Francisco native has appeared in 10 games for the Tempo and is averaging 12.7 points. 4.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.
Rice was selected sixth overall by the Tempo in the 2026 WNBA Draft as the first draft pick in franchise history after winning an NCAA national women’s title with UCLA.
Brittney Sykes, Isabelle Harrison and Nyara Sabally are all out for the Tempo against the Lynx.
The Tempo return to action following the break having dropped seven of their last eight games and currently sit four games behind the Washington Mystics for the eighth and final playoff spot with a 10-16 record on the season.
