Saskatchewan Roughriders fans deserve their flowers.

Riders Nation has waited for this moment since 2013.

Now they are the favourite to win it all with a chance to end their Grey Cup drought tonight in Winnipeg.

Saskatchewan opened -1.5 at FanDuel.

That number quickly moved to Riders -3.5 at FanDuel amidst speculation that Montreal Alouettes quarterback Davis Alexander could be limited by a hamstring injury.

With just hours to go until kick-off, Saskatchewan remains a 3.5-point favourite at FanDuel.

Of course, being the betting favourite hasn’t necessarily translated to success in recent seasons.

Underdogs have gone a combined 8-2 against the spread in the previous 10 Grey Cups.

That underdog run includes the Toronto Argonauts upsetting the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 41-24 in 2024.

Two years ago, the Alouettes stunned the CFL with an epic Grey Cup run that featured upset wins over Toronto in the Eastern Final and Winnipeg in the Grey Cup.

That year, Montreal beat Toronto 38-17 as a 10.5-point underdog at FanDuel to advance to the Grey Cup.

Then Cody Fajardo and Tyson Philpot led the Alouettes to a 28-24 win over the Bombers as an 8.5-point underdog in the biggest game of the season.

This time around, Montreal is banking on Philpot and Alexander to lead them to a victory.

In case you missed it, Davis Sanchez expects another big game from Philpot in the 112th Grey Cup.

Meanwhile, Aaron Korolnek jumped on Philpot to win Grey Cup MVP at +2100.

He also took a flyer on Alouettes running back Stevie Scott to win Grey Cup MVP at +10000.

Considering he thinks they have MVP potential, it’s no surprise AK circled Scott and Philpot when he locked in his FanDuel Best Bets for tonight’s game.

AK played Philpot over 63.5 receiving yards.

He also went with Scott over 42.5 rushing yards.

Of course, all eyes will be on Montreal’s star quarterback when the Grey Cup kicks off tonight.

I anticipated Alexander could be limited by the hamstring injury that forced him to have an MRI after the Eastern Final when I jumped on a pair of his unders at FanDuel earlier in the week.

However, it looks like I might be forced to hedge my bets if Alexander is in fact confirmed good to go tonight.

I tailed AK and Chezzy with their plays on Scott and Philpot.

I also jumped on the Chargers -3 earlier in the week.

If you’re thinking about betting on the 112th Grey Cup, Scott and Philpot might be a good place to start.

I’ll also jump on Montreal +3.5 and hope that the underdog can at least give us an entertaining game.

Of course, Riders fans would love nothing more than to cruise to a Grey Cup victory.

Trevor Harris is the Grey Cup favourite at +155 at FanDuel.

Alexander is a close second choice at +220.

Then it’s Saskatchewan running back A.J. Ouellette and wide receiver Samuel Emilus rounding out the top four choices at +550 and +1300, respectively.

Meanwhile, the total for tonight’s game remains at 48.5.

As for the spectacle surrounding the game, FanDuel has novelty specials up for the Grey Cup coin toss, the colour of the Gatorade poured on the head of the winning head coach, and the length of the Canadian national anthem.

In case you missed it, our guy Luke Bellus gave us a first look at the Grey Cup novelty props earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Drew Morrison has done an excellent job handicapping the CFL for the TSN Betting team all season.

His FanDuel Best Bet is Charlston Rambo over 30.5 receiving yards.

As I told him when I saw him in the office earlier this week, there’s no way I’m not tailing him for his final best bet of the CFL season.

So, where do I stand heading into the 112th Grey Cup?

Here’s what I’ve locked in for tonight’s CFL season finale.

Davis Alexander under 258.5 passing yards

Davis Alexander under 1.5 touchdown passes

Tyson Philpot over 63.5 receiving yards

Stevie Scott over 42.5 rushing yards

Charlston Rambo over 30.5 receiving yards

Montreal Alouettes +3.5

Is there another FanDuel Best Bet I should consider?

Riders Nation, who steps up for Saskatchewan?

Hit me up @Domenic_Padula and let me know.

In the meantime, the stage is set for what should be an epic finish to an outstanding season in the CFL.

Alexander, Harris, Nathan Rourke, and Vernon Adams Jr. all took a turn as the MOP favourite at one point or another while providing plenty of memorable moments.

With plenty of young talent leading the way, I loved to see that the CFL remains committed to growing the game and its fan base in Canada and around the world.

The CFL rule changes that the commissioner Stewart Johnston announced earlier in the year have been a major talking point.

We reached out to the FanDuel traders to get their take on how the changes will impact betting on the CFL, and they told us that they believe the changes will enhance the users experience on the FanDuel sportsbook app.

Scoring was up in the CFL this season, with the average climbing from 51.8 points per game to 52.9 points per game.

The traders pointed to the number of drops on throws to the middle of the end zone when it came to the decision to move the goal posts back for the 2027 season.

That decision should lead to more scoring.

Meanwhile, they also pointed to the elimination of the rouge as a change that would be welcomed by the beginner or novice bettors.

They pointed towards the elimination of game-winning missed field goals and punts that sail through the end zone and result in a rouge as a positive that could eliminate a source of frustration for FanDuel bettors.

Ultimately, as a CFL fan and an avid bettor, it’s great to see the league taking the necessary steps they believe will make for a better overall product.

It’s been another great season and thanks to AK, Chezzy, and Drew Morrison, it will be a profitable one as well.

Hopefully, we can finish the year on a high note.

Enjoy the 112th Grey Cup, everyone!
