Butch Huskey has died at the age of 54.
The New York Mets announced the passing of their former outfielder on Friday.
No cause of death was given.
A native of Anadarko, OK, Huskey was a seventh-round pick of the Mets in 1989 and made his big league debut with the team in 1993. He would go on to play for five seasons for the team before stints with the Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, Minnesota Twins and Colorado Rockies. He ended his professional career after the 2001 season.
In 642 games across seven big league seasons, Huskey was a .267 hitter with 555 hits, 86 home runs, 336 runs batted in and an OPS of .760 in 2,078 at-bats.
