Fiorentina is hoping to complete a loan for Joshua Zirkzee.

BBC Sport’s Sami Mokbel reports the Viola are in talks with Manchester United over the Netherlands forward, but work remains to be done.

The 25-year-old Zirkzee is open to the move.

A native of the Rotterdam area, Zirkzee is in his third season at Old Trafford following a £36.5 million move from Bologna. He has struggled both in form and for playing time during his tenure in England. Zirkzee has five goals in 56 Premier League appearances.

A product of the Bayern Munich academy, Zirkzee made his senior debut for the club in 2019. He had loan spells at Parma and Anderlecht before joining Bologna on a permanent deal in 2022. Zirkzee had 11 goals in 34 Serie A appearances in his final season at Bologna.

Internationally, Zirkzee has been capped six times by the Oranje, scoring once. He was left off of the squad at the 2026 World Cup due to his lack of game action at United.

The summer transfer window is set to close on Tuesday.
