Sun activates Lacan, waives Van Lith

The Connecticut Sun activated guard Leila Lacan on Thursday.

Guard Hailey Van Lith was waived in a corresponding move.

Lacan, 21, was the 10th overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft. She had been playing in La Boulangère Wonderligue where she was named Finals MVP with Basket Landes. She averaged 10.4 points a night in 25 games for the Sun last season.

Van Lith, 24, had been claimed off waivers from the Chicago Sky coming out of training camp. She appeared in all nine of the Sun’s games, averaging 8.1 points and 2.2 assists over 17.6 minutes a night. The native of Wenatchee, WA was the 11th overall selection of the 2025 WNBA Draft out of Texas Christian.

The Sun (1-8) returns to action on Saturday with a visit from the Los Angeles Sparks (3-3).
