SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The San Francisco 49ers signed third-round pick Will Redmond to a four-year contract Thursday.

The former Mississippi State cornerback was selected 68th overall.

Redmond tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during practice in October, but the 49ers were willing to take the chance on him in the draft.

Redmond appeared in 27 games for the Bulldogs over three seasons, finishing with five interceptions, 99 tackles and 13 passes defenced.
